LVBA Fall clinics and camps scheduled...

LVBA Fall Workout

Kids of all ages up to 15, 2 hours every Sunday in October


$125 for the month (4 dates) or $40 per day


Time slot: 6-to-8 p.m.

LVBA Winter Workouts

Mike McDaniel returns to LVBA...

LVBA welcomes back Mike McDaniel, effective immediately...

Mike spent the 2009 college baseball season at University of Arkansas Fort Smith as the hitting coach. With a record of 43-15 the team finished ranked 13th in the nation in D-1 NJCAA. The Lions hit .324 as a team and had 100 doubles and 45 homeruns. Under McDaniel's tutelage 7 players signed to play at high end Division 1 programs, and Jordan Sallis was drafted in the 47th round by the Boston Red Sox.

Mike is available for lessons at LVBA.

Jeff Bittiger's draft pick paying dividends for A's...

Oakland A's Scout and LVBA owner/16u coach/instructor Jeff Bittiger had the Athletics draft Vince Mazzaro in the 3rd round of the 2005 draft out of Rutherford High School in New Jersey...

After a dominating run in Triple-A in May, he got called up to the big team and is off to a fast start for the A's...

Movie director Steven Soderbergh visits LVBA...

Academy award winning Movie director Steven Soderbergh and some of his crew showed up at LVBA this morning to shoot scenes for the 2011 movie "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game", based on the book written about Oakland A's GM Billy Beane...

Oakland A's scout (and LVBA Owner/Instructor) Jeff Bittiger was filmed using an "interview format" for about 45 minutes inside LVBA...Of that 45-minute question and answer session, about 1-to-3 minutes of that interview will actually show up in the movie, which will star Brad Pitt, who will play the lead role of Billy Beane...

Soderbergh and his people got right back into their private plane at Lehigh Valley International Airport and flew back to Los Angeles...

Sean Heimpel and Paul Smith prepare for their first full pro season...

Sean Heimpel and Paul Smith have been throwing bullpens at LVBA all winter long as they prepare for their first full season in professional baseball, as they both go to spring training in about a week...

Both pitchers were throwing 89-to-94 mph this past Tuesday at LVBA in their respective bullpen sessions.

Heimpel will be going to spring training with the Washington Wild Things (near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) of the Frontier League while Paul Smith will be heading to North Dakota to go to spring training with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks of the Northern League.

Brian Ernst dominates Southern Lehigh, 10-0...

Brian Ernst, who received weekly instruction at LVBA during the winter months, threw six innings of shutout baseball, striking out 14, while allowing just 2 hits in a 10-0 whitewash over Southern Lehigh last Friday...

Ernst was consistently throwing in the low 90s...His next scheduled start is slated for Wednesday, April 22...

Andy Rodgers is a one-man wrecking crew as Pius X wins 13-0...

Andy Rodgers (who works out at LVBA) went 3-for-3 with a Grand Slam, 2-run double and 2-run single for a total of 8 RBI as Pius X whitewashed Pocono Monutain West 13-0...Connor Breslin (on the LVBA 15u team) was 3-for-3 with a 2B and 2 RBI...

Also on Tuesday, Freedom beat Easton 2-0, and LVBA players had 4 of the 8 hits in the game...LVBA travel team players Kenny Johnson (RBI), Sean Archer and Chad Frankenfield each had a hit for Freedom and Colin Case had a hit for Easton...

Paul Smith signs with Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks...

Paul Smith, who pitched for the Limeport Bulls of the Tri-County League last summer, has signed a pro contract with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks of the Northern League on Saturday at LVBA...Paul has been working out at LVBA for the past month or so...

He will be reporting to spring training April 30th...

LVBA Director of Baseball Operations Dylan Dando will also be at spring training at Fargo in a coaching capacity...

The ECTB Stars advanced to the semifinals and clinched a medal in the 11th Annual Cocoa Expo’s Presidents Day Challenge, 16u tourney at Cocoa Beach, Florida after their 2-0 victory this morning...LVBA's Chad Frankenfield struck out 9 to go along with the shutout...

LVBA has 11 players on the ECTB Stars team in Cocoa Beach, Florida for a 16u tournament and in their Saturday afternoon opener versus G-unit, the Stars won 6-5 thanks to a Colin Case walk-off homer with two outs in the bottom of the seventh...Eric Snyder also homered...

LVBA Travel baseball teams...

The Lehigh Valley Baseball Academy is still looking for serious, committed baseball players for their travel teams, mostly for the 8u through 13u teams...

We have formed an 8u team...We have two 13u teams and a 12u team and all of those are just about filled...The 11u Stealth team is just about set...the 10u Venom team is having tryouts on March 15...

We do not have enough players for a 9u team as of this moment and we also do not have enough players for a second 10u or second or 11u team...If enough committed players come along, we will add these 3 additional teams, but as of now we carry the following teams:

13 u (2 teams)
12u
11u - Stealth
10u - Venom
8u - Stealth
